Described by her colleagues as "a singer with a charming charisma and engaging personality", Jacqlin gets easily in touch with her audience. Every performance has it’s own unique personal ambiance. The mix of her unique voice, surprising and sung from the heart, never misses its effect.
Jacqlin began singing at the age of six. After her time In Hong Kong, where she worked as a musical vocalist round 2005 , Jacqlin moved back to the Netherlands. Where she followed her passion for Jazz.
In 2016 she was one of the founding members of the Jacqlin Peters ColLEKtive. A Jazz collective with professional musicians, living near the river "Lek". With Patrick Holleeder from Wijk bij Duurstede (piano), Sandor Bodi (double bass) from Culemborg and Vincent Knaven (drums) from Tiel and Jacqlin Peters from Beusichem (vocal).
Her repertoire consists a surprising mix of covers and songs from the American Songbook. We all know from Ella Fitzgerald, Sarah Vaughn and Peggy Lee. Her versatile voice suits all variations. Soft ballads, sweet Bossa Nova’s as well as funky swing songs.
Still working as a Jazz singer, Jacqlin was searching for a new direction in Jazz related music. With producer Tom Sikkers, she found a great collaboration. Which resulted in a modern version of Blossom Dearie’s song, "I’m Shadowing You". Her musical creative ideas, and Tom's input from experience and expertise, have given this song a complete new sound.
This paved the way for Jacqlin's musical creativity. With which she will continue to interpret music in a fresh and creative way. Whether it's Jazz, easy-listening, pop or dance music.
Jacqlin will continue interpreting music in a fresh and creative way. Wether it's Jazz, easy-listening, pop or dance music, up until the present day.
